SMART and HEI4Future projects joined forces

While we are packing up for our upcoming project meeting in Milan, Italy, let's have a look back at our latest encounters

The two SMART capacity-building training programmes held in Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and Vlora, Albania, marked significant milestones in our journey toward establishing Innovation Centers in partner HEIs across the Western Balkans. These initiatives were made possible thanks to the collective effort of all the project partners.

FPM, for instance, contributed substantially to the SMART training programme in Vlora, Albania with different training sessions.

One session delved into HEI-business cooperation, showcasing successful case studies and drawing valuable lessons from networking experiences at institutional, regional, national, and international levels.

Another session focused on IPR management, imparting foundational knowledge and emphasizing its potential role as a catalyst for collaboration between academic institutions and enterprises.

In a final workshop session, trainees collaborated in groups to collectively identify potential needs, synergies, as well as opportunities and challenges for the implementation of their Innovation Centers and the definition of effective strategies for moving forward.

The onsite training was then complemented with two insightful online follow-up sessions. One revisited the topic of IPR, emphasizing its intersection with sustainability, while the other featured guest speakers from Universidade de Lisboa shedding light on the activities of their Technology Transfer and Knowledge Enhancement Centre.

These initiatives highlighted the project commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration within both academic and business environments, ultimately aiming to bring about positive change in our communities.
