GeNeMe Pre-Conference 2023: Augmented Collaboration in Trans-European Communities

Description

The GeNeMe Pre-Conference 2023 features a community workshop titled “Augmented Collaboration in Trans-European Communities.” The workshop explores collaboration between Erasmus+ project partners within a social virtual reality environment, Tricat Spaces.

Panel speakers from the COWEB and SMART projects focus on the Western Balkans region, addressing the challenges and opportunities of building trans-European higher education communities. The workshop fosters synergies between the two projects, particularly regarding joint activities and publications.

Key topics include the sustainable design of trans-European communities, innovative inter- and cross-cultural cooperation approaches, and the technical and didactical prerequisites crucial for success in online communities. The overall aim is to strengthen the exposure and inclusion of students and academic staff in international learning and research through hybrid mobility approaches in the Western Balkans.

The workshop also launches the online training component of the SMART project and marks the start of the COWEB project’s Virtual Collaborative Learning modules, which project partners independently conduct. An interactive wrap-up session engages participants with panel speakers and gathers feedback and ideas for future developments. The discussion is recorded and made available online to ensure broad dissemination and outreach.

The workshop is held in English at TU Dresden, Germany and online.
