Communicating Impact of University-Business Cooperation

Description

University-business cooperation plays a central role in shaping innovation, economic growth and societal progress. Yet, while partnerships between academia and industry generate significant results, the value they create often remains hidden if not communicated effectively. Demonstrating the tangible and intangible impact of these collaborations is essential for building trust, attracting investment, and ensuring long-term sustainability. Clear communication also helps to showcase how joint initiatives contribute to addressing societal challenges, advancing research, and fostering skills development.

This workshop explores how professionals working at the interface of universities and businesses can convey the outcomes of cooperation in ways that resonate with diverse stakeholders. It introduces strategies for translating collaboration results into compelling narratives, selecting appropriate channels for dissemination, and tailoring messages to audiences ranging from policymakers and funders to industry partners and the wider public. By focusing on practical tools and interactive exercises, the session provides participants with the opportunity to apply these approaches directly to their own contexts.

At the core of the workshop is the idea that effective communication does more than report results: it shapes perceptions, strengthens relationships and unlocks new opportunities for collaboration. By crafting engaging stories of impact, institutions can demonstrate shared value, reinforce their strategic relevance and secure broader recognition for their efforts.

The workshop is led by Dr Balzhan Orazbayeva, Manager of Strategic Initiatives at UIIN, whose expertise in strategic engagement and impact communication ensures a dynamic and practice-oriented learning experience.

The event is delivered online in English as part of the EU.FFICIENT training programme.
