Description
Embedding industry into education is increasingly essential for institutions seeking to enhance the relevance of their teaching and prepare students for rapidly evolving labour markets. While collaboration between academia and industry offers significant opportunities, its full potential is realised when it is systematically integrated into curricula and learning design, rather than treated as an ad hoc addition.
This workshop explores how universities and educational institutions embed industry collaboration into their programmes to create more practice-oriented and impactful learning experiences. It examines how partnerships with external stakeholders can be structured and sustained over time, and how academic objectives can be aligned with real-world needs to ensure that graduates are equipped with relevant skills and competencies.
Through interactive discussions, practical examples and applied approaches, participants gain insights into designing curricula that incorporate industry perspectives, fostering meaningful collaboration with partners, and creating engaging learning environments grounded in real-world challenges. The session also highlights how these efforts contribute to strengthening employability and supporting innovation across sectors.
At the core of the workshop is the idea that bridging education and industry is key to future-ready systems. By embedding external collaboration into teaching and learning, institutions can enhance student outcomes, reinforce their societal role and build stronger, long-term partnerships with industry.
The workshop is led by Dr. Balzhan Orazbayeva, Manager Strategic Initiatives at UIIN, whose expertise ensures a dynamic and practice-oriented learning experience.
The event takes place online on 16 April 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 (CEST), and is delivered in English as part of the EU.FFICIENT training programme.
